It's an open secret that we here in the Festival office have been struggling a bit to describe the upcoming world premiere piece Slide, which will have its debut at the Friday Night Concert. In addition to the obvious questions that come up with any new piece (i.e. what does it SOUND like?), the dramatic material is a somewhat confounding exploration of perception vs reality. Well, good news for us. eighth blackbird Tim Munroe has been assiduously blogging about the experience of putting the new work together, and in his most recent blog entry he lays out a fairly neat description of what we can expect.
